In 2005, AURA obtained from the regulatory authorities their authorization to create short stay units in the Ile de France region.

These units are open all year round and aim to help dialysis patients find a structure to receive them during travel and short stays in the Paris region, whatever their usual treatment mode (in-center, unit under medical supervision, self-care or assisted self-care dialysis).

In short stay units (unité saisonnière in French), the care strictly adheres to regulatory requirements and takes into consideration previous patient treatment routines and the nearness of their temporary accommodation or workplace.

The possible recourse to hospitalization for respite care is managed within the network developed with AURA’s partner hospitals.
