The physiotherapy services provided by AURA - on the Notre Dame de Bon Secours site - are part of its therapeutic education mission and concern both hospitalized patients (long and short stay) and ambulatory patients treated with hemodialysis.
The AURA Notre Dame de Bon Secours site has a dedicated room for rehabilitation (parallel bars, bicycles, etc.)
Physiotherapy involves three types of actions:
The rehabilitation sessions include help with ambulation, passive and active mobilization, prevention of muscle wasting, restoration of exercise capacity aimed at functional rehabilitation to enable patients to recover sufficient autonomy to facilitate their return home, or help them to remain in their homes.
These rehabilitation sessions are for :
Use of transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation (TENS) to relieve neuropathic pain (joint pain, sciatica, neuralgia, diabetic neuropathy, viral, etc.) in addition to analgesic medications.
This support facilitates their return home for patients by developing their autonomy. The role of the AURA physiotherapist is also to coordinate the various team members who will be taking over care management.
